Impulse Social Enterprises (ISE) is a social impact business initiative headquartered in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. As the hybrid wing of Impulse NGO Network, ISE operates under the Impulse Model Prevention framework.
Our mission is to create sustainable economic opportunities for women artisans from indigenous communities across the eight Northeastern states of India and Southeast Asia—empowering them to achieve long-term economic resilience.
Rooted in cultural heritage yet driven by innovation, ISE works to ensure that traditional craftsmanship becomes a pathway to fair livelihoods, community prosperity, and the prevention of unsafe migration and human trafficking.
By blending entrepreneurship with social purpose, Impulse Social Enterprises demonstrates how local traditions can fuel global impact—building a future where vulnerable communities thrive with dignity, autonomy, and opportunity.
WHAT DOES IMPULSE SOCIAL ENTERPRISES DO?
The initiative currently supports 7,000 indigenous artisans across all eight Northeastern states of India and has reached over 30,000 artisans through design development training programs, entrepreneurship development, and market access linkages. By promoting traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage, ISE not only sustains community livelihoods but also reduces vulnerabilities to unsafe migration leading to human trafficking through stable and dignified income opportunities.

nonprofit strategies with sustainable business practices to ensure
long- term self- sufficiency for communities.
CONSULTING & RESEARCH
ISE conducts impact studies and generates reports on the social and
economic outcomes of its initiatives. It also offers consulting services for
CSR initiatives and businesses seeking to create positive impact.
COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT
Profits from product sales and consulting services are reinvested into development programs, mentorship, and micro-financing for
local artisans and entrepreneurs.
